Text segments are how carriers bill messages; a long text can use more than one. Allowances reset monthly and do not roll over.
AI usage
The AI Assistant is in every plan. Ask it in plain words to set up a customer, build an estimate or invoice, schedule a job, or send a document; review and confirm the proposed business action on its card. Essentials, Pro, and Boss include monthly requests. Solo requests, and requests beyond an allowance, draw on prepaid AI credit. Usage is separate from confirming an action.
The AI Receptionist answers the calls you forward to it, collects what the caller needs, and puts it in your CRM. Talk time is billed by the minute from the same credit. Boss includes the number and 100 minutes a month.
The only addition to a credit pack is the card processing fee (2.9% + 30 cents), shown before you pay. Purchased AI credit is generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly approved by PocketBoss.

A credit card is required to start your free trial, but it is not charged during the 14-day trial. You are only charged if you continue after the trial ends.
Solo fits one person who needs customers, estimates, invoices, payments, jobs, and a calendar. Essentials adds dispatch, crew time, projects, QuickBooks Online, the online booking page, texting, and reports for crews of up to five. Pro adds tiered estimates, smart routing, analytics, SMS campaigns, and banking for teams of up to ten. Boss adds the AI Receptionist with a dedicated number and 100 minutes a month for teams of up to 25.
Yes. You can move up or down a plan at any time from Billing in the app. Your data and settings stay exactly as they are.
One message you send to the assistant. Whatever it looks up or proposes from that message, and confirming the card it shows you, is part of the same request.
The assistant keeps working from your prepaid AI credit at 5 cents a request. You can add credit any time from the assistant, the AI credits page, or Billing. With no allowance left and no credit, it pauses until you add credit or your allowance resets next month.
Talk time is 25 cents a minute, billed from your AI credit, plus 10 cents a minute while website knowledge is turned on. The managed local number is $5 a month. Boss includes the number and 100 minutes a month. Every other plan can add the receptionist and pay for the number and the minutes.
One prepaid wallet per business covers both the AI Assistant and the AI Receptionist. Buy credit in packs from $5 to $25. Packs are sold at face value; the only addition is the card processing fee (2.9% + 30 cents), shown before you pay. Purchased credit is generally non-refundable except where required by law.
Yes. When a customer pays you through PocketBoss, PocketBoss takes 0.5% of a card payment, or 0.25% of a bank transfer capped at $25. It is deducted from your payout. It is never added to your customer's invoice, so your customer pays the invoice total and nothing more. Stripe charges its own processing fee on top, currently about 2.9% plus $0.30 per card transaction, also deducted from your payout. If you never collect payments through PocketBoss, you never pay either fee.
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. There are no contracts or cancellation fees. You keep access until the end of your billing period.
Review your export needs before cancelling and contact support about account deletion. Data retention varies by record type under our Privacy Policy; cancellation does not mean every record is automatically deleted after 30 days.
