Type it or tap the mic and say it. Customer names, dollar amounts, dates, and who should be on the job all count. If a detail is missing, the assistant asks for that one detail and nothing more.
Read the card
The assistant answers with a card that shows the exact record it would create or change: every line item, the total, the date and time, the customer it matched, the note it will print. Invoices and estimates come with a full PDF preview and an edit link.
Tap once, or not
Nothing is saved, sent, or charged until you tap the button on the card. Close the card and nothing happened. Every confirmed action lands in your activity log marked as done through the AI Assistant.

Frequently asked questions
Can the assistant change something without me?
No. Reads (schedule, invoices, stock levels, reports) return an answer straight away. Anything that creates, changes, sends, or charges is shown on a card first, and only your tap on that card carries it out. There is no setting that removes the card.
What counts as a request?
One message from you is one request, whatever it asks for. A message that books the appointment, drafts the invoice, and sends it is still one request. Confirming a card does not count.
What happens when I run out of included requests?
Requests past your monthly allowance cost 5 cents each and come out of your prepaid AI credit, the same wallet the AI Receptionist uses. You can add credit from the assistant itself, from Billing, or from the AI credits page, in packs from $5 to $25 plus the reload fee shown before checkout. With no allowance left and no credit, the assistant pauses until you add credit.
Who on my team can use it?
Owners can use every tool. Team members see the AI Assistant once you grant the permission, and inside it they only get the tools that match the permissions they already have in PocketBoss. A technician who cannot see invoices in PocketBoss cannot ask the assistant for them either.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Open PocketBoss in your phone browser and the assistant is in the menu, with the mic and read-aloud where the browser supports speech. The native iPhone and Android apps will follow.
What does it do with my data?
Your records stay in PocketBoss. For each request the assistant reads only what is needed to answer it, through the same account permissions you already have, and it never trains on your business. Conversations are kept for 90 days so you can scroll back, then deleted.
What if a send fails?
The invoice or estimate stays marked unsent and the card tells you which channel failed and why, such as a customer with no email on file. Fix the detail and ask again.
Is the AI Assistant the same thing as the AI Receptionist?
No. The AI Receptionist answers forwarded calls from your customers. The AI Assistant works for you, inside PocketBoss, on the records you ask about. They share one prepaid AI credit wallet, so a single balance covers both.
